ARTEXPRESS Selection: Avant Guard Film
Year 12 student, Modie Schmidt's avant guard film has been chosen for ARTEXPRESS; a selection of outstanding bodies of work by 51ɬɬÎÝapp Visual Arts students in NSW.
This body of work draws inspiration from a diverse range of postmodern artists, each of whom uses their art to comment on the world in unique ways. Modie has embraced this artistic influence to develop her own vision—one that celebrates individuality, idiosyncrasy, and the beauty of 'the strange' through mixed-media art.
"In my creative process, I aim to integrate these artists’ techniques, ideologies, and media to communicate my personal message: to encourage the celebration of oddities, embrace one's uniqueness, and invite the audience to connect with their own 'niche side'."
"Through this approach, I strive to create art that not only challenges conventions but also fosters a deeper appreciation for the unconventional," Modie said.
